Students discussing books with the volunteers

On 23rd September 2016, the Education Section of Tibet Charity organized a BOOK SWAP EVENT to encourage students as well as readers in and around to read more and circulate their books. The attempt has been made since 16th September in collecting the donated books from students and staff.

The event was started at 9 o’clock in the morning where students crowded around the tables in search of the books they like. We had 220 books on display. We had books in different languages such as English, Chinese, Tibetan, Korean and French.

Our students have been very generous in giving out the books which are rare and these could be assets in the collection of those who participated in the event . We had books by Chinua Achebe, Salman Rushdie, Dan Brown, Rowling and many more in English as well as in Tibetan.

We are also very thankful to our Thai monks for donating a bunch of pens, pencils and notepads for our students to take.

Screening of a movie show related to the subject

Along with the BOOK SWAP event, our volunteer teachers have been very supportive in arranging special events such as movie screening, role playing activities and reading classes.  We are pleased to have 159 books changing hands.

We thank the staff of Tibet Charity for being supportive in making the event a success.

All those who took part in the event were offered tea and snacks while they spent time discussing over books.

We received lots of appreciation from our volunteers for this event.
