A patient being transported in our ambulance

Tibet Charity concluded it’s free ambulance service for the pilgrims at Bodh Gaya who have come to participate in the 34th Kalachakra initiation by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Along with the free ambulance service, the massage clinic was also closed with effect from 14th Jan 2017.

Starting from the 2nd of January, the 1st day of Kalachakra, Tibet Charity started Free Ambulance Service for the welfare of the people who had come to Bodh Gaya with special focus on new comers from Tibet who could fall ill during their stay in Bodh Gaya and who don’t speak languages spoken here. Along with that, we also opened massage clinic for the benefit of people, especially the elders, who could experience muscular and bodily pains owing to extended circumambulations, prostrations and trekking to pilgrimages around Bodh Gaya.

Patients receiving massage therapy

At the end of our program in Bodh Gaya, we are happy to have got the opportunity to offer our service to many people in need. In total 407 people came to the clinic to receive massage therapy and 35 made use of our free ambulance service. Our staff, though only 10 in number, worked over time to serve others. They started their massage program from 8 in the morning to 5 p.m. and beyond. Sometimes they visited elders in their lodge in the evenings. Our staff sacrificed their opportunity to listen to the teachings to accompany patients to hospitals in place as far as Patna.

We are very grateful to the Kalachakra Organising Committee for giving us the space and opportunity to offer our service to others.

We thank Tibet Charity Denmark and Mr. Wanivenhaus (through Save Tibet Austria) for kindly providing us the financial support to carry out this noble program.

Last but not the least, we thank the pilgrims in Bodh Gaya who have supported and appreciated our service with words of kindness and encouragement.
