Director felicitating the new president

Tibet Charity arranged a special dinner in honour of the outgoing and new presidents of TCV organization on 2nd May 2016.

The outgoing President Mr. Tsewang Yeshi la, who has been the president of TCV organization for 10 years from 2006 to 2016, has extended great support to us during the period of his presidency. He has been approached umpteen times for various inputs for smooth conduct of various charitable activities initiated by us and he has never shied away from giving us time and support. Above all, his contribution in getting the Tibet Charity Animal Section running is something that can never been forgotten. Previously when we used to run the animal clinic in our campus, we used to have small cages on the rooftop of the clinic to keep the dogs that were brought for treatments. But at night the cages were thrown open by people running guesthouses in the neighborhood as the sound of the dogs barking at night drove the guests away. Then we had no option but to close our clinic for the animals for some period. But there was huge public demand including from Mrs. Maneka Gandhi to get the clinic started. So then we approached the president of TCV schools and he kindly offered us three options out of which the present spot was chosen. Since then we have had great success in controlling the dog population in the region and we have also succeeded in completely eradicating rabies from the region – at least since 2006 till date.  We have also organized Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies vaccination camps in many places in Himachal Pradesh.

So it was a big honour and pleasure for us to be able to organize a simple dinner in his and in the honour of new president Mr. Thupten Dorjee la.

The Director while felicitating Mr. Tsewang Yeshi la recollected every support we received from him. He said, “Though our relationship with you as the President of TCV schools ends here, I hope this will be a beginning of closer and stronger relation with you as a person. I hope you will continue to guide us and support us in the future”.

The Director congratulated Mr. Thupten Dorjee la for being chosen as the new president of TCV schools and he wished him all the success as the president of such a prestigious organization. He requested the President to continue bestowing us the support as has been provided by the outgoing president so that we can continue carrying out the socially beneficial activities without fail.

Both Mr. Tsewang Yeshi la and Mr. Thupten Dorjee la congratulated and thanked Tibet Charity for initiating various innovative programs for the benefit of the poor and needy. They were particularly impressed by our Home Nursing and Animal Welfare programs. Both said that it is a privilege for TCV in general and themselves as presidents in particular to be able to make some contribution to the social welfare activities of Tibet Charity. Mr. Thupten Dorjee la, the new president promised to continue extending full support to Tibet Charity.

On behalf of Tibet Charity and myself, I am thanking you sincerely for the continuous support and help – hoping that you are not disappearing, but keeping in touch!”
