Bodh Gaya 1Like last year, this year too, we had the privilege of taking part in the veterinary camp organised by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa at holy town of Bodh Gaya from 2nd to 8th December 2014. The camp was organised in keeping with the vision of His Holiness to relieve the suffering of all sentient beings.
Mr. Lobsang Thukjey, an experienced and trained vet attendant from Tibet Charity participated in the camp. Though the camp concluded on the 8th, he was requested to stay back for few extra days to look after the dogs that required post opBodh Gaya 2eration care.
Besides Tibet Charity, there were vets and experts from the Sikkim Anti-Rabies Animal Husbandry Division [SARAH]. A team of volunteer vets from Australia and England also joined in conducting surgical sterilisation, anti-rabies
vaccination and general treatment for dogs.
We thank His Holiness Karmapa and SARAH for giving us the opportunity to serve the animals at the camp. We also thank Fondation Brigitte Bardot, France for kindly providing the necessary financial support to run the camp.
