Our Elderly Care programme supports older members of the Tibetan community who live alone or lack regular family support.Through home visits, practical assistance and emotional companionship, we aim to ensure that elders feel cared for, respected and connected.
This work is our way of honouring the first generation Tibetans in exile who helped build the Tibetan community in exile from the ground
WHO WE SUPPORT
Elders living alone or without family support
Hermits monks and nuns spending their time doing meditation and religious practices in the hills of Dharashala
Seniors whose children live abroad or are unable to provide daily care
Older individuals facing
OUR SUPPORT
Regular home visits for companionship and wellbeing
Help with household chores, shopping and basic needs
Distribution of food items and winter bedding
Monthly stipend for vulnerable elders through the Adopt a Grandparent sponsorship programme
We also visit the nearby slums and distribute food items and winter beddings
Currently, 65 elders receive pocket money support with the kindness of our sponsors
IMPACT
Our support reduces isolation, improves daily living conditions and restore dignity for elders who might otherwise struggle alone.
