EDUCATION SUPPORT
Tibet Charity’s education program provides English language training to individuals who have had little or no access to formal schooling. Many learners are newly arrived from Tibet and need language skills to communicate and adapt to life in a new environment.
Our classes support monks studying English to serve as translators, help preserve Buddhist knowledge through translation work, and assist individuals seeking employment, including guiding visitors in their home regions. Students come from Himalayan communities across India as well as other Asian countries, creating a diverse and supportive learning space.
Alongside language training, Tibet Charity has supported more than 107 students through scholarships, enabling them to pursue career-oriented education and build independent futures.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our education program supports individuals who have had limited or no access to formal schooling, particularly newly arrived Tibetans adjusting to life in exile. Many learners come from remote areas where educational opportunities were scarce.
We work with monks and nuns seeking English skills to translate Buddhist teachings and assist visiting scholars. We also support individuals who wish to gain practical language skills for employment, including guiding tourists and working in community services.
In addition, our classes welcome students from Himalayan regions of India and learners from other Asian countries who benefit from a safe, supportive environment focused on basic education and personal development.
OUR IMPACT
Through our education program, Tibet Charity has helped individuals gain the language skills needed to communicate, find employment, and participate confidently in their communities.
Over the years, more than 107 students have received scholarships to pursue vocational and career-oriented studies, enabling them to build independent and sustainable livelihoods. Many learners have gone on to work as translators, guides, community workers, and educators, creating a ripple effect of opportunity.
For newcomers from Tibet and learners from Himalayan and other Asian regions, access to basic English education has been an important first step toward integration, dignity, and self-reliance.
