A patient brought to a hospital for a checkup

Tibet Charity began its FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE (2nd – 14th January) for the benefit of the people who have arrived at Bodh Gaya to receive the Kalachakra Initiation from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. More than 100 thousand people are estimated to have arrived and more are expected; taking the number to around 400 thousand people.

We have initiated this service keeping in mind the pilgrims who have come all the way from Tibet and who don’t speak the language here. We will not only arrange free ambulance service for these people in case they are required to go to hospitals for checkups or treatments but will also help them throughout the course of their checkups or treatments. We will, of course, be extending this service to any other people who may need this service.

Besides the above we will also arrange blood with the support of the members of our Blood Donors Club in case anyone requires emergency blood transfusion. Our Home Nurses will be providing free massage service to those elders who may experience minor muscular and joint pains after hours of prostrations, circumambulations and trekking to pilgrim sites around Bodh Gaya.

On the first day itself (2nd January 2017), our ambulance has transported three patients to different hospitals. 24 elders have availed free massage service.

We are grateful to Tibet Charity Denmark and Mr. Wanivenhaus (through Save Tibet Austria) for kindly funding this humanitarian initiative.
