Starting from the World Diabetes Day on 14^th November 2014, the Health Care Section of Tibet Charity organized free health camp for ten days at various places in and around McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala.

The main objective of the free health camp was to create awareness among the public regarding the causes, prevention and control of diabetes and blood pressure. Creating awareness among the public has demanded important attention as rapid increase has been noticed in the number of people having high blood pressure and sugar level.

Besides creating awareness among the public, free BP and sugar level checkups were done. The persons having high risk of blood pressure and diabetes were advised to go to Delek hospital for further checkup.

We thank Margrethe Larsen and Tibet Charity, Denmark for kindly supporting us with strips and needles used for sugar level tests. Without her support, it would not have been possible for us to go for large scale checkups.
