Tibet Charity observed World Rabies Day on 28th of September. The day was marked by a simple public awareness function which was presided over by Dr. Ajmer Dogra, the Deputy Director of State Animal Husbandry Department at Dharamsala.
The Director while welcoming the guests at the function, explained how Tibet Charity Clinic For Dogs was first started. He thanked Brigitte Bardot Foundation, TCV school, state animal husbandry department and all organisations and individual well wishers for their continued support.
Ms Jigme Choekyi talked about rabies, its causes, symptoms and cures in both human and animals.
The Deputy Director in his speech lauded Tibet Charity for its good work and promised continued support.
After the function, The Deputy Director gave the first rabies vaccine to our house dog marking the beginning of mass vaccination program that will go on for 10 days. Anything between 700 to 1000 dogs are expected to be vaccinated.
