On 5th July 2020, Tibet Charity Team celebrated His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 85th Birthday by helping poor and needy people in their slum village. Tibet Charity went to the slum village near Kangra where 65 migrant workers residing. These people were from Rajasthan and Maharashtra in search of daily wage job. Indian migrant workers during the COVID-19 pandemic have faced multiple hardships. With factories and workplaces shut down due to the lockdown imposed in the country, millions of migrant workers had to deal with the loss of income, food shortages and uncertainty about their future. During this visit, we found that many of them were not having proper places to shelter themselves from heavy climatic changes like hailstorms, rainfall, summer heat etc. Nor they have proper clothes for the poor kids in the block. Hence, we went through their village and they were overwhelmed to get a basic ration to cook for them and their families. There gratitude was visible from their gestures and expressions.
